My dining room table is presently littered with various items that are emblematic of the Christmas season: Wrapping paper, ribbon, gift tags, Scotch tape, scissors, and a large candy bowl. Because we have two inquisitive and blithely destructive cats living here, we’ve kept a large white sheet handy – it gets spread over the entire table when it is not in use. This protects the aforementioned items from any unwanted feline interaction.
At least, that was the theory. I walked into the dining room this afternoon and found that Brunswick (aka Bun Butt) had managed to find the candy bowl in spite of the sheet. While removing the sheet is beyond the limits of her meager dexterity, she was able to assume this position:
I briefly considered fixing the glowing eyes in this photo, but I decided to leave them, since her face is normally so dark that her eyes can’t be seen at all.
