Cool Movies

A coworker of mine recently won 4 tickets to see Disney’s High School Musical On Ice, courtesy of a local radio station. She will make fine use of these tickets by taking her husband and two daughters to the show. While I’m sure I would enjoy such a presentation, I’m equally certain that the four of them will enjoy it more than I would, so I’m happy for them.

It did set my gears a-turning, though . . . We’ve seen many a movie turned into an ice spectacle over the years (The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, et al), and I hear tell they’ve attracted throngs of satisfied viewers, so this is obviously a valid concept, but I think there are some unexploited opportunities just waiting for some venture capital and a cadre of talented skaters to turn them into box office gold. Titles that come to mind include Schindler’s List On Ice, Grizzly Man On Ice, and, of course, My Dinner With Andre On Ice. Also up for consideration are Brokeback Mountain On Ice and Monster’s Ball On Ice. Are there more?

Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Ice?

Because, as any good hockey fan will tell you, blood bounces on ice. ;)

Of Ice And Men

More Cool Movies:
1. "Lawrence Of Arabia On Ice": Peter O'Toole reprises his role in the largest ice rink in the Middle East.
2. Madonna and Sean Penn reunite for a sexually charged version of "Lady And The Tramp".
3. John Waters presents his classic "Pink Flamingos" in a show for all ages.

Re: Of Ice And Men

My only question about "Lady And The Tramp" is this: Given the casting, shouldn't the title be changed to "Tramp and the Tramp"?
