And this time is no exception!
I had a dazzling dinner the other night at McCormick & Schmick’s, which is merely one of my favorite restaurants on the planet. Hmmm… I guess you could say I’m really into M&S. And to make the evening even better, I was with Doug and Francesca. And to make things even EVEN better, they picked up the tab!
I’ve made a commitment in recent visits to M&S to ordering something I haven’t ordered before whenever I dine there. They specialize in seafood, so there is a veritable ocean of possibilities swimming about on their menu. This time around, I opened with the Pan Fried Yearling Oyster appetizer. One of my friends made a face when I said the word “oysters” to the waiter, while the other accepted only a tiny sample of the dish when it was served. So yay, more for me! They ordered the Crab, Shrimp, and Artichoke dip for their appetizer, which I was invited to sample. It was a knockout (mental checkmark by that menu item for future reference).
My entrée was the Bay Shrimp and Scallop Fettuccini and it was a pure delight. All of this was accompanied by a glass of a very decent Italian Pinot Grigio. Dessert was a repeat from earlier visits – Crème Brulée.
I have no intriguing insights or witty commentary to offer; I merely wish to document a very lovely evening – and I want to once again recommend McCormick & Schmick’s to anyone with a love for seafood who doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra bucks for a quality dinner!
P.S. It requires a supreme effort on my part to NOT order the crab cake appetizer, but like I said, I’m trying to explore the menu. Still, if you think you’ve had good crab cakes, you need to try theirs!
