Am I the last one to see this?

I was sent this link by onceupon, and I commend it to your attention if you haven’t already seen it. It’s a fine piece of work – someone has taken the trouble to research and assemble an org chart of The Geek Hierarchy. If you’d like to see it, click right here. The unabridged version and other info are also well worth checking out!

Re: One more block...

Funny you should think that . . . I spent a month in Greece 6 years ago doing classical Greek theater, so it's entirely feasible that I might make such an entry. If you ever want to know more about my trip, please ask me, but I need to warn you that I never tire of talking about it, as it was possibly the most wonderful month of my life. Thanks for coming by! Y'know, I almost decided to attend the Alex farewell, but at the last minute, my usual social habits kicked in. I hope you're doing well, and I'll keep checking out your LJ.

Woohoo! I have at least 5 levels of geek geekier than me!

Well if you ask me, you've got a totally legitimate shot at making it to the top row of that org chart!

I hope you understand the implications of such an achievement.

I know you're aware of the obvious rewards - wealth, fame, boy toys and a free copy of USA Today with breakfast. But more importantly, it would mean that all the legions and clubs and cliques of geeks below you on the chart would be writing really bad imitations of your work and circulating it amongst themselves like a social disease.

Just so you're prepared for that when it happens.

You're welcome.
