Last weekend, we were driving through Utica, a town in central Illinois with barely a couple thousand citizens, when I beheld this sight. CC indulged me by pulling the car to the side of the road and waiting while I walked up and down the block sizing up the shot. I really love it – everywhere I look in this photo, I see something. I consider it to be a collage of America, and that’s all I’m going to say about it.
This one requires a bit of explanation, since its raison d’être is probably not too apparent. What fascinates me about this shot is that it’s a vista that exists less than a block from the building I’ve worked in for over 15 years – only I’d never seen it till a few weeks ago! Hmmm… maybe I shouldn’t admit that… too late now!
