Patients and Patience

Current Music: The Midnight Special - Johnny Rivers
After almost 10 days in the hospital, CC appears about to come home. She has been formally discharged and is presently packing her belongings and awaiting my arrival. I will pop over there after work and pack her and her stuff into a taxi bound for home, thus ending this phase of the odyssey that began in the pre-dawn hours of a week ago Monday.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the best-case scenario called for her to come home last Thursday, but a series of setbacks conspired to repeatedly push her release date back. Suffice it to say that these issues appear to be resolved, and CC is chomping at the bit to get home and continue her convalescence in an environment over which she has more control.

Our cat Puck has been inconsolable in recent days. Oh, he likes me okay, but he also makes it plain that he is merely settling for my comfort until such time as Mommy returns. Cy, on the other hand, seems to not even be aware that anything is amiss, as he has always been devoted primarily to me. Personally, though, I think Cy has more regard for CC than he lets on, and I think everyone will be happy to see her come through the front door tonight!

I'm so glad she's well enough to come home - I have been thinking of her. Make sure she doesn't do much for a while. Apart from being home and seeing the cats I'll bet two of the things she'll enjoy best are breathing fresh air again and sleeping in her own bed. Those are the things that have always made me breathe a huge sigh of relief when leaving hospital. Home cooking is high on the list too.

Please give her hugs from me and I hope she recovers fully soon.

I've passed along your good wishes. CC appreciates them and thanks you! I did everything either of us could think of before I left for work this morning to get CC set up with everything she might need today within easy reach. She is presently finding great joy in simple pleasures like fresh air, direct sunlight, the living room couch, and a bedroom unencumbered by needles, hoses, beeping machines, and constant interruptions. Well, actually, she's only too happy to deal with Puck's constant interruptions!

Hey Chuck! Long time no read!
I hope CC is doing well.

In honor of the latest addition to your household, I snagged and edited some of your pics to give you this:

CCcats

(Have you ever tried to edit glowing eyes from a cat picture? It's not easy.)
