The Play(ing)’s the Thing

In the name of supporting my neighborhood businesses (as well as my fellow geeks), I want to mention this place – Chicagoland Games. It’s at 1207 W. Bryn Mawr, right next door to an occult bookstore, which is right next door to a wireless store. So there’s your one-stop shop for whatever sort of geekiness floats your boat. It’s practically across the street from a 24-hour Walgreens and a block from an excellent pizzeria, so one may easily amass all of the provisions necessary for an extended gaming session.

I haven’t set foot in the place yet. It’s been open for only a couple of weeks, which may perhaps account for the rustic style of their signage. If it isn’t clear, that object on their sign is a 20-sided die – what we would have called a “percentile die” during my D&D days.

The shot below is another example of their window signage. They may be a little thin on graphic design expertise, but they certainly don’t lack for energy and ambition! Considering the long list of businesses that I’ve seen come and go in that particular storefront, I wish them a long and happy presence there!
