The Car Doctor

Economic woes have led to a lot of people switching jobs and careers lately. This, in turn, has led to an interesting new business here in Chicago. It’s an auto repair shop run by a former psychologist. I wanted to pass along one of their current advertisements:

Has traditional automotive medicine let you down? Give Cody the Car Doctor a try!

As an introduction to our unique approach, we’re offering the following guidelines – free to you and worth every penny!
— Your car won’t start when you want it to? Maybe you need to let your car make the first move.
— Is that wonderful spark gone? Maybe it isn’t anyone’s fault; maybe it’s just bad timing.
— You can’t change your oil; only your oil can change your oil.
— If a trip to the junkyard makes you think of “My Mother the Car,” you may subconsciously be searching for Oedipus Wrecks.
— Your car may be bipolar: Check to see if your car slows down when the brake pedal is depressed, but speeds up when the accelerator is depressed.
— Are you starting to feel ‘funny’ about staying in the car when you go through the car wash? Perhaps it’s time to establish new boundaries and work on your trust issues.
— Maybe you’re over 40 years old and your car is a sporty model that’s under 3 years old – how to bridge the gap without feeling as if the world is judging you.
— If it feels like you and your car are heading in two different directions, it’s time to grab hold of the steering wheel and take control! You really “auto” call Cody today!

[Cody has been board certified by AAA (Automotive Analysts Assoc.). He has a BA, MA, and PhD, as well as a GMC and a BMW]
