The Top 3 Good Things About Having a Cold
#3 When the guy at the desk next to mine says, “Ugh! What’s that smell?” it’s not my problem (even if it is my problem).
#2 A well timed hack or nose-blow can dissuade people from taking that empty seat next to me on the train.

And the #1 good thing about having a cold:
I can really nail those low notes when I sing “I Walk the Line.”

But other than those things, having a cold totally sucks.

My stubborn cough from my chest cold means I can't sing. :( I can't maintain the breath for long notes. GRRRR.

Amen! A bad chest cold with extended congestion can knock my voice down for many weeks, which is a terrible thing for those of us who enjoy bursting out in song at the slightest provocation (or no provocation at all). I hope you'll be belting out the tunes very soon! :)

btw, I'm thinking our friend Akhenaten there might be suffering from some similar ailment; it would certainly explain the long face.
