Under the knife

This Friday figures to find me very preoccupied. Two of my best friends are having surgery that morning (at two different hospitals in Chicago). Neither surgery would seem, on paper, to be life-threatening, but they are both pretty involved procedures. Beyond that, and out of respect for their privacy, I will not discuss their procedures in any detail. I will say that CC’s surgery is the latest in a series that she’s had over the past year, and it should be the last major procedure in that process. FP’s surgery is a bit less routine and we’ll be keeping close tabs on both of them.

CC should be out of the hospital by the end of the weekend. I do not know how long FP will be hospitalized, but I will be posting general updates in this journal. In the meantime, please send your best wishes/energy/prayers their way!
