We runners-up had the honor of seeing our names and lyrics printed in the paper, and we each received a genuine Irish tin whistle as a consolation prize. It was a lot of fun, but that song, like the newsprint upon which it was printed, soon blew away and faded into dim memory.
Or so I thought. It seems that one man in Michigan never forgot about it. That would be my brother Gregory. I received an e-mail from him this morning with an mp3 file tacked on. Greg has gone ahead and written and recorded a melody to go with my lyrics! I couldn’t be more honored. Thank you Greg!
EDIT— It was my intention to include a link to the mp3 file, but I haven't yet gotten it to work. When I do, I'll update this post!
